Relevant Entrepreneurial Skills
The MScBA Entrepreneurship & New Business Venturing uses a variety of teaching for-mats that helps you to develop a rigorous understanding of key entrepreneurial challenges and relevant entrepreneurial skills. A solid understanding of theories and research findings provides a valuable basis for creative and critical thinking and practical problem solving.

Core Courses
The Foundations of Entrepreneurship
This core course presents key theories and findings developed in the founding disciplines in our field that inform our understanding of the practice of entrepreneurship. These disciplines are psychology, economics, sociology and business administration. In this core course you will learn to appreciate the breath and depth of entrepreneurship as an schol-arly field. This foundations course prepares you to address challenging and practical issues with a solid and profound appreciation of the main scholarly and research contributions.
Entrepreneurial Start up and Growth
This core course builds on the Foundations of Entrepreneurship core course to teach you to effectively use and apply theories of entrepreneurship to analysing and solving practical problems of entrepreneurial management. The focus is on the developmental problems that new firms experience when they explore the value creation potential of business opportunities, and the problems that they will face when they scale-up their operations and when the venture matures. During this course entrepreneurs and investors come to RSM Erasmus University to challenge your assessments and to help finding your Entrepreneu-rial Start-up and Growth solutions.
Admission with Dutch Diploma
You are eligible if you hold an:
- RSM Erasmus University Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Business Economics from another Dutch university
You are required to submit the results of a GMAT (very few students have scores below 600, < 570 not much change to be admitted) a TOEFL score with a minimum of 575 (paper-based) / 233 (computer-based) / 90-91 (internet-based) or IELTS score with a minimum 6.5. The institutional code for GMAT is QK8-CX-52. The institutional code for TOEFL is 7199.
You are exempt from an English test if your university education has been in English for at least 3 years.
Wiith a Dutch university (bachelor or master) degree other than in Business Administration or Business Economics, you may apply for the 2-year MSc General Management.
With a Dutch HBO degree, you may apply for a pre-master programme.
Application with a Dutch diploma
RSM Erasmus University bachelor graduates go to SIN.
All other MSc applicants are subject to a check by the Examination Board and need to send an application package containing the following documents:
- Application Form
- Copy of your passport
- Certified copy of your secondary education diploma and grades
- Certified copy of your university or HBO (higher professional) or vocational training education diploma and grades
- Any other certificate or diploma relevant to your application
- GMAT results (if applicable)
- TOEFL or IELTS results (if applicable)

- Two letters of recommendation

Career Prospects
Obviously, many students opt for the MScBA Entrepreneurship & New Business Venturing to prepare for an entrepreneurial career. We anticipate that those students make the right choice; most of our graduates will at some point in their careers become successful entre-preneurs. However, the experiences at RSM Erasmus University and elsewhere tell us that on average university graduates tend to start-up five years after graduating. Also in this pre start-up period the knowledge gained during the MScBA Entrepreneurship & New Business Venturing will be of great use, as it equips you with the skills and capabilities needed to help companies pursue opportunities for growth and value creation.
Supporting New Business Ventures
Given the focus in our programme on the identification and exploitation of business oppor-tunities, our graduates can also help established companies rejuvenate and grow by de-veloping and building new business ventures. It is your ability to act on opportunities for new business that corporate recruiters value in the graduates from our programme.
Starting Positions of our Graduates
Entrepreneurship graduates can work as analysts for investment banks or venture capital-ists, as a management consultant or recruiter, or as a business development professional in large established organisations. Others may opt for a traineeship with a multinational. Naturally some of our graduates do not seek salaried positions but choose to become self-employed entrepreneurs prior to, or directly after graduating.
